Friends, can FXdreema be used to program an EA that will trade volatility 10 index, since it's not among mt5 pre-installed currency pair or symbol? If it can, how can I implement?

@jpsam said in EA Trades Volatility index:

Amigos, ¿se puede usar FXdreema para programar un asesor experto que opere con el índice de volatilidad 10, ya que no está entre los pares de divisas o símbolos preinstalados en MT5? De ser posible, ¿cómo puedo implementarlo?

Of course! You can create EAs to trade synthetic indices, including the Volatility 10 Index (V10). To do so successfully, first, clearly define your strategy, including entry and exit conditions, tools, indicators, and key configurations.

I recommend that you first trade manually on the chart, refining your approach until you achieve consistent results. Once your strategy is validated, you can develop your EA in FxDreema or MQL5, based on the parameters you have already tested manually. This will help you optimize the EA's performance and avoid mistakes from the start. Good luck with your development! 🚀

@jpsam Before considering the idea of a bot, you need to be COMPLETELY sure that the indicator doesn't repaint. Because if it does, no bot will ever work with.

(English) I will try to help everyone in these fxDreema forums. But if you want to learn how to use the platform in depth or more quickly, I can help you with my introductory fxDreema course in English at https://www.theandorraninvestor.eu.

Thanks for your response! But how can I get v10 among the assets or pairs in Mt5, as Mt5 where strategy tester runs doesn't come with volatility indices? As you know, when writing EA with FXdreema, you simply choose the pair or instrument your EA will trade; the list doesn't include v10 index

And what do you mean by indicator repainting? Please throw more light.

I think Andorra misunderstood your question

however you need to find a broker first that offers you V10 index, then you can test it by loading your expert on chart or tester on the MT5 broker's platform

Pay attention to set pip size rules correctly in the project options.

@ambrogio Thanks for your response. I already have a live account on deriv and have been trading v10 for a while, but the other side of your suggestion is what is not clear. Fxdreema works with pairs that come with MT platform, which doesn't include v10. I have way of connecting deriv account, where I trade v10 on my MT5 platform, so that I trade using MT5 instead of deriv app, but to make v10 part of the pair in EA created with FXdreema is the challenge. I don't know if is possible

FxDreema EA, like any other EA, is supposed to work on any chart which the EA is put on.

Does the index you mentioned can be shown on a chart ?

@ambrogio but certainly, volatility 10, 25, 75 or step index is not contained in either MT4or5, that's the challenge. With the little I know now, Deriv is the only broker offering any of the above mentioned indices. Thanks

Yes you are right, Deriv is the only broker. Forgive me, I certainly can't understand where the problem is.

@ambrogio No but I can get it. Do you think it would be the solution? I trade with the normal MT5 platform, connecting to Deriv with my Deriv account login details because it is easier through there than Deriv version of MT5; and I think both versions are not the same.

normal platform cannot give you all instrument of other brokers.
So, yes, you have to download the Deriv MT5.
