New ea
-
I could use some help making a simple ea that buy and sell at the same price. Anyone who would like to help me?
-
Going to need more details than that lol.
-
Yes of course.
I Want it to buy and sell exactly when the 15 minute handle is completed. With a 20 point stoploss and a 60 point target.
When one of the trades hits stop loss the other one moves the stoploss to breakeven.. -
-
I want to do both at the exact same time. Can it be done?
-
XFIRE is it possible to buy and sell at the same time?
-
Putting 2 limit orders 60 points away is the same strategy, you will only lose less money because you dont pay spread, commission and swaps for nothing.
-
its two orders at the same time. One buys and one sells. If the market moves higher the sell position will close by the 20 point stoploss and then the buy order is 20 in plus - move stoploss to breakeven. Then the loss is max 20 points and the target is 60 3:1. ?
-
But you must see that you are locking in 1 guaranteed 20 pip win and 1 guaranteed 20 pip loss. Its 0.
Think about your account in total, not individual trades.
If you put 2 stop orders 20 points away and 2 limit orders 60 points away, you get the same strategy but it is more efficient, because you dont pay for nothing. -
If the Trade is 0 then its ok cause the next one could be 60 points - 20 point loss= 40 point profit. I went through Many charts and I Think i Will be profitable..
-
@runegg the trade is actually less than 0, because there are trading costs. You are giving money away to your broker, and you get nothing back.
Anyway, here's how you wanted it:

assuming I am right and the target is hit and that gives me 60 point (minus spread yes) enough times then Im not giving away money? the spread is one dollar and there are two trades=2 dollar trading with a dollar a point.
-
My concern is the first 20 points, when you have trades to both directions. The 20 points are useless from your perspective, you only start to earn actual profit after price moves more than 20 points. Am I right?
-
Yes you are right. Its meant for the Dow Jones where the volatility are pretty big. When i go through a Day on the 15 minute chart it seems like this strategy could work. Maybe some adjustments like trailing stop after 60 points cause it sometimes moves Way more when it takes off
-
Ok, if you only care about the part after 20 points, why not set pending buy/sell stop order at 20 points? This way you dont have to pay for the zero-sum part.
I dont think this strategy is actually a huge success, holy grail, but its good practise!
-
didnt think about doing it like that. makes good sense. could u make that easily?
