    • RE: how to build a layer on ea martingale

@fxdreema I'm also playing a bit with the Martingale type EA's. In your example, you say that you use TP of 50 pips in the sell blok, so the TP is 50 pips from the open price of the last child-trade and all other trades in this trade-group get this same TP. Won't this be pretty unprofitable as most of the other trades will close out with a negative profit??

What I want to do is the same kind of structure, but different as follows. Let's say I open the first buy order with a TP of 120 pips, SL 3000 pips. When the market price moves the other way, I want to open a child trade each time it moves 280 pips (spread). For the last child-trade, I want the TP to increase with 140 pips and all other trades in this group adopt the same TP. SL remains at the initial 3000 pips from the opening trade. So:

Trade 1: TP 120 pips, SL -3000 pips
Trade 2: opens after -280 pips, TP 260 pips (adopted by all), SL remains -3000 from first trade
Trade 3: opens after -280 pips, TP 400 pips (adopted by all), SL remains -3000 from first trade
      etc
      etc

Any idea on how you would go about this?

      Kind regards,

      I forgot:

I also tried downloading historical data from multiple free websites and I then retrieved a CSV file, but I couldn't implement/import this properly in the historical data center for that pair

    • Need help backtesting

      Hi,

I'm pretty new at FX Dreema and Forex in general.
I played around with some EA's a bit and started with FX Dreema. No wondering if I should buy a subscription but if I can't backtest properly, it may not be much use.

What I tried so far is:

      • The standard MT4 strategy tester. Somehow my historical data only goes back 3 months voor the 5M timeframe for example. When I go to the historical data center under options and press download for the pair I want (EURUSD), it doesnt download extra data.
      • changed number of saved/showed bars in the options to 999999 but doesnt help.
      • I refreshed the specific 5M EURUSD chart and it gives met 76k bars but that still not very far back in history.
      • Whenever I run EA's in the strategy tester, I get a quality of like 30% and only got 90% (I belive that is the max?) once.
      • I tried downloading historical data from multiple free websites and I then retrieved a CSV file, but I couldn't implement/import this properly in the historical data center for that pair

      My question:

I want to be able to backtest EA's minimal 1 year back. How do I do this effectively with a 90% accuracy (still not that high but might be an indication if it could work.) besides the way I descrived above? Also, are there other good ways to backtest EA's, besides the MT4 strategy tester? I'm very surpised I could.find a good web based platform to do this. Any help is appreciated!
