RE: Forum updateposted in Questions & Answers
I keep trying to make a post and it says it's forbidden. Are there restraints on newbies?

Are my files sometimes corrupted?posted in Bug Reports
I sometimes find, when I am doing lots of edits quickly, that the mq5 file that I've downloaded and compiled is completely wrong, it often has old inputs in it etc. Is this possibly due to some sort of lag? Do I have to slow down with my key tapping and mouse clicking to allow for things to be updated on the server?

RE: the platform ea are all full of bugsposted in Bug Reports
There's a learning curve @tirra-banabas but it's actually very easy and intuitive once you get the hang of it, and super clever. The platform works fine, imo, I have built many perfect EA's in just a couple of weeks of patient learning. Keep at it.
Always go through your logic, remember the saying, 'the computer never lies'. Good luck.

RE: Quicker way to edit and previewposted in Questions & Answers
Sorry for basic question, but how do I get it to download the the ex4 directly to my Experts folder? After I hit that button in fxdreema it always goes to my downloads folder, then I have to copy paste.
But don't you have to compile it first?

Ah right, I'll give that a try, thx.

Quicker way to edit and previewposted in Questions & Answers
Just a thought, is there a quicker way to preview edits made to my fxDreema canvas? Other than mq5>download>copyPaste to MetaEditor Data Folder>Refresh>Test...?
It's just that first bit that gets a bit 'clicky'.
Not whinging, just asking

RE: Adjust SL & lot size on Trailing orderposted in Questions & Answers
@l-andorrร so I place my order just above candle [1] high and then trail it down the pullback, all the while my sizing is adjusted depending on the distance of the SL which trails the 20ema.

Adjust SL & lot size on Trailing orderposted in Questions & Answers
hi all, How best to have my lots size recalculated as my pending order trails (once per bar)? I am using 'risk % based on SL'.
So as price moves down towards an ema, I want my SL size to reduce and therefore my lot size to increase.
Do I have to just delete all pending and redo the order?

Yeah just saw fxDreema's old post on that, works a charm, thx.

Orders not firing when closing > my drawn resistance lineposted in Questions & Answers
Hi all, just learning how to do this...
This placed 2 lines nicely on my chart at the 15m high and low, I then manually tightened them a bit, but my order didn't fire. Any idea why?
I assume by manually moving the lines I can still control when the order gets triggered?

But you do this on MT4/5 (using TDS data)? Not some other platform...? And am I right in saying there isn't a software/platform that will run through all the different combinations of my strategy? For example, what I working on right now, I don't know whether to have my SL at 50, 75, or 100 pips, or trail it, whether to start it behid a candle, an ema etc etc. that's before I even get started on adding in/taking away a few Conditions. It can easily run into 100's of back tests.
Do you more experienced guyss do this all manually? Or is there some platfrom to help?
Right now I'm flitting between fxDreema, my folder system and excel, getting abit unwieldy

@cmuphyfx ah you mean download the data from TDS and import it into MT5 and do the test on there...? TDS don't have a testing platform do they? Or do you test on something else?

@cmuphyfx Many thanks, understood. So for my purposes testing on MT5 is a waste of time. So you suggest Tick Data Suite, right?

RE: Too many combinations of Conditions and Parameters to test manuallyposted in Questions & Answers
Cheers guys for your responses.
The build part of it I'm totally happy here on fxDreema, wouldn't dreem of going anywhere else. It's just the next part, sifting through all the variations of conditions and parameters that will take weeks manually. I kinda assumed there would be software out there that ran through all the different variations/combinations for you, presenting you with optimized settings at the end.

RE: every tick based on real ticks - MT5, huge variance in resultsposted in Questions & Answers
Ah, so I now gather, back down my hole, I'll cancel that order for a new audi

I have now got myself a nice set of live data to test on, courtesy of eareview.net and Dukascopy.
What confuses is me is that I still get vastly different results between 1min OHLC and 'every tick based on real', one shows a loss of $5k and the other a loss of $90k over a 6 month period on a $100k bal. This is despite all my conditions being on candle close. It's not even close. what am I missing?

every tick based on real ticks - MT5, huge variance in resultsposted in Questions & Answers
A question if I may, I have been running tests on MT5 for my strategy using 'every tick'. I was getting amazing results on a 1m 'trend following' strategy in the NY session, with my test showing circa $50K profit in a year (on $100k). I then switched to 'every tick based on real ticks' and got a $90k loss. Can it really be that different?
I understand that the affect depends on the type of strategy. I was originally trying to snipe entries and would need tick data, but I've changed it so that all of my conditions are at candle close. But I still get -$90k using 'real ticks', whereas OHLC is +$25k. Can anyone give me any more insight? Is the MT5 tester totally useless for testing scalping strategies therefore?

What's people's opinion on something like StrategyQuant? Do many people here use that or similar? Seems like an extension of fxDreema if I'm not mistaken...?
