      @gtoat777 youtube is king!
      "creating custom symbols in metatrader"

      But in the mean time, Id start downloading the data from tickstory (im fairly certain there is a free version) and yes, the downloads take forever. I would suggest doing this:
      DL tickstory, find 1 or 2 pairs to start with (dont try to home run all of them at the start, it takes a long time to download), but the best way ive found to do it that skips steps is right clicking the symbol you want and click "export to MT5." I do tick data, from 2010 today. Its usually a few gigs per pair so dont use a limited HD for this. This method, it automatically downloads and converts it to ticks in 1 step to the folder of your choosing.

      @l-andorrà sounds like he's just saying trail @ $50. Step @ 10$ ? I will say though, that trailing by money didn't work for me. Perhaps because I was using pips elsewhere is why, but trailing in dollars didn't work. It still utilizes pips.

    • RE: Bullish and Bearish Tick

      @nehemiah7
      "In MT5, some symbols have two types of volume:

      Tick Volume – this is the number of price changes within each period of a selected timeframe (default setting)
      Real Volume – this applies to markets with centralised exchanges only.
      For spot forex and derivates, you use tick volume which represents a proxy for volume in the form of activity. However for other markets such as stocks, some brokers offer real volume for those markets which have a centralised exchange."

      https://mt4.quantumtrading.com/configuring-the-tick-volumes-indicator-for-mt5/

      Just so you aren't wasting your time chasing ghosts, a tick means up or down. A tick is a change in price, indicators are made to match the direction of candle to ticks coming in, Cumulative Delta 5 does it best from my groups testing.

    • RE: How to close trade as candle close on current timeframe

      @kunalyadav1809

      -if position
      -once per bar
      -modify variables

      1. is the variable to change. the same variable is selected to modify it, but in the adjust block put +1
        -check value of variable, if 2,
        -close trades
        -modify variables (reset variable to 0)
      2. is the variable to change. but instead of selecting the same variable in the next block, just use Numeric 0

      something like that

    • RE: Bullish and Bearish Tick

      there is no way to know if a tick is up or down, a tick is a tick. Thats why theres no such thing as "real volume" in Forex.

      There was supposed to be some sort of measure with MT5, but either it doesn;t work or the Dreema function to use that data doesn't work.

      Best thing you can do for tick data is an indicator called Cumulative Delta, but even then its just an estimation based on whats happening with price, not the direction of the tick

    • RE: Strategy tester visualization mt5 jumping from pending triggered to closing trade

      @criptofuture said in Strategy tester visualization mt5 jumping from pending triggered to closing trade:

      Im backtesting an algo and I want to be able to see it working with the strategy tester visualization on mt5. The problem Im encountering is that from the moment a trade is opened, the graph jumps directly to the moment the trade was closed. I want to be able to see what happens in between. Does anybody have the same problem? Any solutions? Is it related to my algo or the mt5 configurations?

      Thanks in advance

      sounds like a configuration issue.

      Check the journal for errors.

      If it says something about date, ensure you have whatever tick selection you intend to use, and also make sure the dates make sense. If you are trying to use data outside of your brokers ability, it may run, but not very well.

    • RE: Slow internet connection

      internet doesnt directly affect the EA for testing, but the best thing you could do is download the data from dukascopy and import a custom indi into your metatrader platform...

      But honestly, after you run an all ticks test on 1 pair, it downloads the data the first time and its there forever.

    • RE: Trailling using Money

      other than just needing an If Position above those blocks, it should work just fine.

      but those blocks look like they are copied and pasted from mt4...I dont think they are handled as groups in mt5

    • RE: Hi ... can any some one in here how to fix , what kind error on this setting

      it is because during a trade, once a trade is entered you are seeking if the last candle is bull or bear, and then closing the trade. I wouldn't do a candle closing style that way. Perhaps add a minimum time to it. or only allow it to close once per bar?

      maybe this is what you need instead for the selection underneath?

      well, now you all know who to totally avoid at all cost...I never wanted to put your dirty laundry out there. My community is about people helping people.

      Not only did I do nothing but thank this guy for what he did teach me, he had a fit once and left the channel.

    • RE: How can i create and indicator or Ea to mark up my chart like this?

      @suyirich draw line block would be agood start, as to getting those specific whole numbers, you can do it within that draw line block. youll just need to think of which selection will result in whole numbers.

      Attempt it yourself and then post a link if you are unable to figure it out!

      best thing you can do is use EABuilder.com

      you can make 1 indicator out of 2. For example, everytime that thing happens, you can draw an arrow at that point. Now that arrow drawing indicator can be used in dreema.
