optimized entries, added in 2017. Very obvious that take profit optimization is required and stop loss maintenance.

seeing how efficient an AMD desktop is at eating through these scenarios I'm almost inclined to do a total AMD build to take advantage of how they can use the GPU to accelerate the CPU process and visa versa. Whether or not the MT5 software will take advantage of it is unknown, either way though, the performance of their new chips would we worth the time it sits waiting for stuff to optimize.

      @seb-0 @roar

I'm doing some optimizing now, running on 20 cores on 3 shared computers. Trying to get my max balance higher based on changes in my entry positions, then I will reoptimize based on stoploss and take profit. If there is still 1 more optimization needed I think it will only need to work on drawdown percentage. I will throw on more years in between each process to see how it does but for now the last 2 years will be my focus. Thanks for the tips. I'll keep updates here

    • Broker Choices

Hello Folks, wondering if anyone in the US has a good broker in mind with low spreads? I currently use AAFX and the spread during peak trading times are usually between 8 and 12 points on EURUSD and the other majors. Everything else is pretty wide.

If not that, I've heard of ways to be able to use outside brokers, any intel to share privately?

@roar @seb-0 fair point, to be honest its only because I am currently long on EUR vs USD. No other reason.

I will think how to add shorts, see what I can come up with today

2013 to today, less than ideal. I think it was only 56% accurate. Given its been rocketing since 2017, I'll start it Monday and let you know how it does on Demo...given that I don't change it 100 more times from now to Monday and end up screwing it up like I do. hah

@roar I'll test it, but personally on 2 years of history I will be starting this one on Monday forward testing in a demo.

I think after 2 years of data, the markets are vastly difference in regards to activity...but we'll see. I'll post results after I take 20 minutes to download the history data. lol

just another tip to the author, decrease your starting balance to something more normal. It helps to put everything into perspective for what you will start an account with, how long it takes to accumulate more money....but most importantly it doesn't feel like your heart is going to explode when you see the results of an awesome EA for the first time.

Edit, disregard. That was starting with $300. lol. I am impressed with that, but still, I can determine for sure now that you are risking a lot in terms of # of trades and lot size. The banks love to make very extreme runs on liquidity (stop losses) when global events happen. A move like that from the banks will wipe your account totally.

another thing I'd like you to do for yourself..check the same results on another year. What I have found is that I can create 1 year of pure awesomeness. However if I apply the same rules to the previous year, its a total failure because I built it to thrive in the current conditions but it failed miserably in less than ideal conditions.

project abandoned. Thanks anways. On to the next one!

It truly makes no sense. If anyone come back to this thread and figures it out in 3 years, please feel free to tell me how small of a dumb mistake it was. lol

Im not a fan of 88% equity drawdown...

You're either risking too much in percentage, or running too many trades it?

    • RE: 2 PC's, Same EA

I dont want to mess with my EA's because whatever this problem is, is part of a series of issues I'm having converting from MT4 to MT5. I wasn't aware that the converter built into FXDreema didn't change over the basic blocks like If Trade. As a result, I was running my wrongly coded EAs on MT5 thinking that they were totally off.

Then I changed all my EA's, and I have been constantly going back and forth between each PC. The one time I sit down to work on both at the same time I noticed vastly different results with no good explanation from anyone other than it could be the EA....which can't possible....it makes absolutely no sense.

    • RE: 2 PC's, Same EA

to eliminate settings as an issue I did a full reinstall, no luck, no changes.

I could go to the EA and start changing things, but thats irrelevant really isnt it? If the same EA is saved on 2 computers and they produce different results, it can't be the EA. whats worse is that its not even a complicated ea. No coding. price action only. not a single indicator in sight.
