    • RE: MT5 speed is slow

      @bk7 new 8 intel laptop and ive got a ryzen 2nd gen 8 core desktop at home.

      I think a lot of it in the beginning had to do with waiting on the data from the server. They seem to be a lot quicker...now I just need to figure out how to get both computers to share resources. I tested out the cloud server for optimization to make my EAs more efficient and it went through $20 super fast. Very impressed with the results however!

    • RE: strategy result .. whats your comments !!?

      truly, go back and figure out how to do the testing to get better quality because all results are not going to be very close to accurate.

      my comment is with a 61% modelling quality, that results are a lie.

      Even under 90% I recently changed over to MT5 and im quickly finding that basically anything I created in MT4 isn't as good as I thought because the data is much more accurate on MT5. Maybe thats just me and my case and how my EA's work however.

    • RE: MT5 speed is slow

      yes sir it is and it took my aweose MT4 EA's and totally flipped them around and made them less than ideal. So I'm working hard trying to get my good EA's more efficient again.

      Is this optimization feature worth the CPU power?

    • RE: MT5 speed is slow

      What I did to improve speed is change modelling in 1-minute OHLC. Yes, @ZAHER-AHMAD I will be interested in a slower more efficient method when I need to iron out the details, but I'd like to run through quickly in the beginning of a thought in order to see if it generally works.

      @bk7 No, it is just very simple stuff that I was running by "every tick based on real ticks." According to a google search however, many people say that MT5 is naturally slower in comparison to MT4.

    • RE: what is the highest accuracy for a robot

      usually the highest accurate robots are highly based on time. Keeping out of the least probable trades and only entering high probably moves, during specific times of the day, week, and year.

      But you could, yes...very difficult because it is a robot. Robots follow all rules so if there is no user input you must have thought of every possible scenario to be able to anticipate.

    • RE: Strategy Results, Good? Bad? Okay?

      @zaher-ahmad

      if it was possible, of the nearly 8 billion people on this earth, someone would've figured out how to do it by now. If someone had, we'd know because they'd be the richest person in the world...because thats what greed like that looks like.

      Whatever astrological teacher is feeding you that nonsense, I'd advise you pick up a book called Trading for a Living. Astrology reading is fake 100%. Its all real in hindsight, but until you can replicate it going forward, it will never work.

      @deadllee

      sorry it is too much for me to put into example right now, my brain is on another topic. variables are till very difficult for me to think about, and execution and testing is just as difficult.

    • RE: Do you use your EA for live trading?

      @biztet that was a year on MT4 all of 2020....but if you add in 2019 it doesn't change much. Doesn't look to be the same on MT5. slight variety. I am doing some testing and optimizing now.

    • MT5 speed is slow

      Hello everyone, I have a few different EA's that I use. Most with just a simple variable or 2, usually no more blocks than 20....each one is so slow to run on MT5 software! If I convert it to MT4 and run over there, it is several times faster. On MT5, I am not doing the strategy testing in display mode..so I am smart enough to know its not the play-back speed. Is there something else I'm missing?

      I also noticed that unlike MT4, there isn't a "History Center" to download the data. Is the data constantly updated or perhaps it must be run from their servers every time?

    • RE: Do you use your EA for live trading?

      @biztet jeez....I am really happy that I can now see my best trading times, days and weeks...holy shit, thank you guys a lot. I was wasting lots of time with coding and blocking times and testing...the data is right there. All I need to do now is design a EA to take all possible good trades, then using data, eliminate all that bad times to trade. Easy. Peasy.

      its literally impossible to be 160% accurate...that would be predicting the future, and even then you can only ever be 100% accurate.

    • RE: Strategy Results, Good? Bad? Okay?

      i cant tell what your strategy is, but I know you can't achieve 100% because you are taking many trades. Most people who want to achieve higher results already have good entries, they just take less trades more often, and increase the lot size on the trades that are better timed and depending on market conditions.

    • RE: Strategy Results, Good? Bad? Okay?

      those are decent results, but why are you trying to achieve 100%? I would also assume you are testing this on very small windows of time with such few ticks tested?

      If you were to win 51% of trades you'd be a profitable trader, you would absolutely be very profitable with 98% accuracy.

      Let test a specific time frame together, maybe I can help.

      What are your results only from 2020? What pair are you trading?
